Steve: Good afternoon, Dave.

Dave: Good afternoon, how doing?

Steve: I'm all right, how are you?

Dave: Yeah, good, thank you.

Steve: you've got some pretty kind of exciting news. Do you wanna do you wanna tell the people what what's going on?

Dave: Yeah, so this is something we've been working on for a little while, and people might have read some of the stuff we've been training on LinkedIn about this. But I guess the the big headline is is we are launching today a new cybersecurity package that is specifically aimed at defense tech founders and startups. So this is brand new companies setting up or companies coming into defense for the first time. But what we've done for the first time is to really drive our mantra of you know, we do the security for you as far as we possibly can, and we developed a fixed price package that includes absolutely everything that we think a company needs to be ready to sell into the defence market.

Steve: Well, that's very exciting. the and the idea is turnkey, right? So like a client can come to us and just say, look, I have nothing. can we get started?

Dave: That's exactly it. So just to sort of break down what I mean by everything, it's a secure, managed, monitored, defended Microsoft three six five environment. So that's using our MIDAS service we've talked about a bunch of times before, where we ramp up the security around a Microsoft three six five tenant and then we defend it around the clock. but then what we're also including this time for the first time is the certification that goes alongside that. So not just being ready for the certification, which all of our services include, actually doing it for you, certification fees are included, and that's Cyber Essentials and the Defence Cyber Certification at level zero. So both of those are included. It's the Microsoft licenses to do all of that. And for the first time, and this is a super exciting feature that we're adding in, is the ability to handle official sensitive material, which is really important for companies working in this sector. So It's the encryption and the secure storage needed to be able to handle that official sensitive. we're even offering a hardware package. So if companies don't even have the laptops and the phones, we can supply those as part of this. and they'll be delivered, ready, onboarded, secured, ready to go. So, you know, to take it to its extreme, it lands on your desk, you open it up and at first log on you are in secure, ready to go.

Steve: So it's literally defense company just add Walsher kind of thing.

Dave: That's the idea, yeah, absolutely.

Steve: Yeah, super cool. you mentioned official sensitive, just just to give my own kind of take on that. So I used to work at a big multinational defense prime. Everything we did with MOD and we did a ton of stuff with MOD and DSTL and even some of the intelligence organizations, everything we did was at official sensitive. And so if we wanted to send any information, it had to go official sensitive. So this is why it's really important, I think, for defense businesses, even the small ones, to not have a barrier to entry there and to be able to access those channels in ways that the big guys can without having to spend big guys kind of money. so I mean so so that's really interesting because it takes us on to kind of costing and how and how much does this cost?

Dave: we want to get this out there, we want to get companies using this. So we're doing an introductory offer. This is only gonna be live for a couple of months at this price, and then we'll kind of review it But the way of price is basically two options. So option A is you pay a fixed upfront fee of two thousand four hundred pounds, all these prices excluding VAT. and that is all of the certification costs, onboarding, configuration, and then for every user. that is then using that so every person who needs an account that's £185 per month. the other option is if you don't want to pay the upfront fee then four hundred and twenty pounds a month fixed which includes one user and then £185 a month per additional user. So nothing up front, four hundred and twenty pounds a month.

Steve: Yeah, and I think that The variation of the couple of different options about how clients can get access to this is designed because we want to try and make it as as achievable as possible, even for small businesses that are just starting out, don't have an awful lot of capital to expend on this kind of stuff. The the idea is to lower those barriers to entry, to make it so that even small businesses, which let's be honest, are are you know where a lot of the really exciting ideas are happening in the defense space right now, can gain access to to the to to the tools that are not just going to kind of set them up for security for a set piece but this is like monitored and managed all the way through the year right we're taking care of security and it all the way through the year with these services right so pretty exciting stuff anything else you want to tell the folks Dave: Well, I guess I just want to pick up on the last point because for me that's a really important point is there's the compliance thing. So what what is the cost of doing business in this sector and whether that's with the primes or directly with MOD, this requirement is across the board now. Eleanor Fairford, the MOD CISO, has said she wants every company in the defence supply chain to have DCC level zero by the end of this calendar year. That's a pretty tall order and a pretty big challenge. So we're trying make that as easy as possible. But of course, the other facet is there's real risk. There are real bad guys out there who are trying to get into the defence sector and they're gonna look for the soft underbelly, they're gonna look for the weak link in the chain. And that might be the really small company that's supplying something really, really critical that the primes and ultimately the armed forces rely on. So that's why we've built this package that does both of those things. It's not a paperwork exercise, it's not compliance theatre, it's real security. Done from day one, with all of our expertise and knowledge we've built up over the decades of our various roles in government, in the private sector, with all the expertise we've put into building Midas over the past years, really distilled down into a core offering for these defence companies.

Steve: Super cool. And so if someone wants to take this service, how do they how do they do that?

Dave: well depending on where they're looking at this, there'll be some links. So if it's on YouTube or Spotify, there'll be a link in the notes. If you're looking at LinkedIn, then follow our page on LinkedIn and you'll find it. but if you can't remember any of that, just go to defense.nova-blue dot net and it will take you straight there.

Steve: Great. Well, very exciting, Dave. Thanks for going through that with me. And hopefully people get excited about the idea of some turnkey kind of solutions for IT and security for the defense All right, take care, Dave.

Bye. Dave: Yeah, we hope so too. And you speak soon. Bye bye.
